Suspension Service
Why is regular maintenance important?
Suspension forks and rear shocks are among the most important components of a mountain bike. They do not only improve comfort and traction; they also contribute significantly to control, riding safety, and the protection of the frame and other components.
During use, suspension components are exposed to high loads. They compress and rebound many times per second while being exposed to water, dust, mud, sand, temperature changes, and mechanical stress.
Without regular maintenance, wear increases considerably. Seals and wipers age, bushings can develop play, and lubricating and damping oils gradually lose their effectiveness. Typical signs can include reduced sensitivity, noises, leaks, weaker damping performance, or excessive play.
Regular servicing helps identify potential damage at an early stage, maintain proper suspension performance, and extend the service life of your fork or shock.
What does a service include?
The exact scope of work depends on the specific model, the condition of the component, and the service requested. Where technically possible, a service generally includes inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and replacement of necessary wear parts.
For older, rare, or technically unusual suspension components, we first check which spare parts are available and which work can be carried out in a sensible and reliable way.
A regular service does not include damage or defects caused by accidents, crashes, improper use, pressure washing, severe corrosion, missing parts, previous repair attempts, or other exceptional loads.
If we identify additional damage or work beyond the regular service, we will inform you in advance about the expected additional costs. Chargeable repair work will only be carried out after your approval.
Sending in your component
Please send your suspension component together with a short cover letter. Please include the following information:
-
Your full name and return address
-
Your telephone number and email address for any questions
-
Brand, model, and, if possible, year of manufacture of the fork or shock
-
A detailed description of the fault or the requested service
-
Information about previous repairs, modifications, or conversions
-
Photos of damage, modifications, or unusual parts where useful
Please send only the component that requires inspection or service. Do not include accessories, axles, wheels, mounting hardware, or other unnecessary parts unless we have specifically agreed otherwise.
Please use a tracked and insured parcel service, such as DHL, UPS, or a comparable carrier. Keep your proof of postage until the component has been returned to you.
We do not accept freight-collect shipments.

Processing and return shipping
The usual processing time is approximately 15 to 20 working days, depending on the season, from receipt of both the component and a complete service request. Processing may take longer during peak season, for rare models, or when replacement parts must be sourced.
Warranty and guarantee cases are handled as a priority after review. Regular service work begins once we have received the component and all necessary order information.
Return shipping within Germany is carried out by DHL parcel after payment in advance. The current return shipping charge is €12.50.
All prices are stated in euros and include the statutory German VAT of 19%, plus shipping costs. We reserve the right to make changes to prices, models, and technical specifications, and to correct errors.
Warranty and wear information
Statutory warranty rights apply to repair and maintenance work. Please inspect the returned component after delivery and report any potential issue in writing as soon as possible, preferably with photos and a clear description of the problem.
Normal wear, pre-existing damage, and defects that are not caused by the work carried out or by replacement parts supplied by us are excluded from claims relating to the service performed. Depending on the component and its condition, this may include:
-
Normal wear and ageing of all seals
-
Wear of guide bushings and piston bushings
-
Damaged or worn surfaces on piston rods, stanchions, damper pistons, or cylinders
-
Damaged mounting bushings and mounting hardware
-
Damage caused by pressure washers
-
Damage caused by rubbing, poorly routed cables, or hoses
-
Stone chips, crash damage, and transport damage
-
Corrosion, material fatigue, or age-related defects
-
Technical modifications to the component
-
Repair attempts or work carried out by third parties after the service
On older shocks, a small amount of lubricant may occasionally become visible around the piston rod, adjustment controls, or sealing areas after servicing. A light lubrication film can be technically normal and does not automatically indicate a defect. However, dripping oil, a clear loss of damping performance, or a functional problem should be checked.
For any complaint, please include the original service order, invoice, or another proof of purchase or service.
